Harrison Hale was named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week today.

Hale, a senior defensive end from Peoria, Ill., finished with 10 total tackles, including a sack in SAU's 38-28 win over Trinity International Saturday afternoon.

Eight of his tackles were solo stops, including a fourth-quarter sack. He finished with 1.5 tackles for loss. Hale also blocked a field goal attempt at the end of the second quarter that preserved a 14-14 tie.

Hale led a dominating SAU defense over the middle two quarters. After allowing 155 yards in the first quarter in falling behind 14-7, the Bees surrendered just 78 yards in the second quarter and 50 in the third. And after the Trojans completed their first seven passes for 154 yards, Hale and the rest of the defense harassed them into just three completions over their next 15 attempts.

Hale leads the Bees with three sacks this season. He is third on the team with 25 total tackles.

SAU, now 2-2 on the year, will visit St. Francis (Ill.) Saturday at 4 p.m.
