After helping St. Ambrose to two more shutouts and scoring three goals herself, Kayla Anderson was named the CCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week today.

Anderson, a senior from Naperville, Ill., helped St. Ambrose record its eighth and ninth shutouts of the season in wins over Judson and No. 21 Cardinal Stritch last week. Seven of the Bees' 10 conference wins have come via shutout. SAU has nine total shutouts this year.

Anderson also chipped in offensively, scoring two goals in the Judson win and netting the game winner on a penalty kick against Cardinal Stritch. She leads the team from her defensive position with nine goals.

The Bees will open the CCAC Tournament at home Saturday at 7 p.m. with a quarterfinal match against St. Francis.
