Women's Lacrosse - Fri, Nov. 4, 2016

St. Ambrose head lacrosse coach Garrett Wimberly announced today the hiring of Kelly Molloy as an assistant coach for the Bees women's lacrosse team, which will begin play in 2017-18.

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Molloy played at Augustana College (Ill.) and was part of the 2013 Vikings team that reached the NCAA Sweet 16. That year, Augustana won the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference and became the league's first team to claim a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

"With her college success of reaching the NCAA Sweet 16, Kelly will be a valuable addition to our program right out of the gate," Wimberly said. "Her experience and connections in Illinois will also definitely help in recruiting."

Molloy also has coaching experience with the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association (IGLA), Naperville North High School, and currently the Quad City Lacrosse Association (QCLA).

Molloy started her lacrosse career at Glenbard West High School, where she played all four years before attending Augustana in 2011. She helped the Vikings to a 15-3 record in the program's inaugural season before going 17-4 the following year on the way to the Sweet 16 finish.
