CCAC Men's Soccer Awards

CHICAGO --- Led by Robert Morris University Illinois' 13 all-academic selections, a total of 72 individuals were named to the 2016 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer All-Academic Team when it was announced by the league office Friday night.

The Eagles and conference tournament runner-up Cardinal Stritch University both boasted double-figure recipients with the latter posting 11 honorees. Trinity International University manned the No. 3 spot on the list with nine selections followed by St. Ambrose University and Trinity Christian College with eight each.

Conference regular-season and tournament champion Olivet Nazarene University was next in line with six recipients, while both Roosevelt University and Saint Xavier University gained four spots each and Purdue University Northwest, three. Rounding out the schools represented were Calumet College of St. Joseph and University of St. Francis with two awardees each and Holy Cross College and Judson University with one each.

The eight Bees named to the list were Sam Anstey, Nico Boehling, Alex Denton, Ryan Drechsler, Tom Greensall, Ross Hendry, Jack Kloft and Gregor Stevenson.

Eighteen of the 72 recipients were repeat selections on the squad with two individuals gaining the nod for the third year in a row.  Seven individuals had perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
