Emily Soy and Brette Logic found each other for huge 3-pointers in the final minute, including Logic's game-winner with 1.3 seconds left, to lead St. Ambrose to a 69-67 win over Judson Wednesday night in Lee Lohman Arena.

Fifty seconds after Logic found Soy for a three that put the Bees in front 66-65, Soy returned the favor.

After the Eagles (11-10, 7-5 CCAC) took a 67-66 lead on two free throws with 28 seconds to go, Soy, inbounding the ball from in front of the Bee bench after an SAU timeout with three seconds remaining, found an open Logic, who drained the triple to move St. Ambrose to 7-13 overall and 3-9 in the CCAC.

Judson's last-ditch 3-pointer at the buzzer bounced off the rim.

Having lost fourth-quarter leads in several home losses this season, the big shots from the two St. Ambrose senior guards helped the Bees hold on. Soy and Logic each finished 2-for-2 from long distance.

SAU battled back from a 10-point second-quarter deficit thanks to a big third quarter. The Bees opened the frame with a 19-4 run to go in front 54-43 on an Aubrie Carlisle basket with less than three minutes remaining in the third. SAU outscored Judson 24-13 in the quarter to lead 59-52 going to the fourth.

Reeann McCarty and Carlisle hit jumpers to move the lead to 63-58 with six minutes to go but then the Bees ran into a five-minute drought. The Eagles took advantage with a 7-0 run to go in front, leading to the late threes from Soy and Logic.

The late heroics from the guards overshadowed a strong performance from Hailey Cook, who finished with game highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds in the win. She had nine points in the third quarter that helped St. Ambrose take the lead.

Carlisle added 16 points, eight boards and four steals. McCarty netted nine points while Soy and Logic each finished with eight.

SAU finished 18-of-19 from the line and needed them all to hold off the Eagles, who connected on 23-of-24 free throws.

The Bees will play their second of three straight home games this Saturday against Trinity Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. on SAU Basketball Alumni Day.
