CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Michael Ohioze (London, England) and University of St. Francis' Kyle Mitchell (Crest Hill, Ill.) each registered NAIA automatic-qualifying standards over the weekend to earn the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for the 2017 season, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

Ohioze, a senior, broke two school records en route to claiming CCAC Track Athlete of the Week accord. He captured both the 60- and 200-meter dashes at the Wartburg College Chelsey Henkenius Open on Saturday with respective times of 7.01 seconds and 22.23 seconds. 

Ohioze's 60-meter time ranks in the top 25 nationally, while his 200-meter time met the "A" standard and ranks seventh-best in the NAIA.
