Emily Soy finished 5-of-8 from beyond the arc and scored a career-high 17 points in an 84-67 loss at No. 16 Cardinal Stritch Saturday afternoon.

She hit her first four attempts before missing her first attempt of the fourth quarter in surpassing her previous career high of 12 points set earlier this season at Bethel (Ind.).

Her work helped the Bees play the nationally-ranked Wolves even into the third quarter.

A Morgan Myers 3-pointer one minute into the third had St. Ambrose within 39-36. But Cardinal Stritch (21-4, 15-2 CCAC) responded with seven straight points to push the lead to double digits.

Aubrie Carlisle hit a jumper to cut the deficit to 48-41 midway through the third before the Wolves ran off five points in a row to regain control. CSU outscored SAU 25-16 in the third and led by double figures the rest of the way.

The Wolves shot 52.5 percent for the game after shooting 60 percent in the second half. They also grabbed a 45-27 advantage on the boards.

Soy was one of four Bees to finish in double figures. Reeann McCarty finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, Colleen Grady scored 12 and Myers added 11. Carlisle matched McCarty with a team-best eight boards.

SAU, now 9-16 overall and 4-12 in the CCAC, will host Trinity International Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
