St. Ambrose simply ran out of gas.

Down just seven points six minutes into the second half, SAU was outscored 39-21 by No. 8 Robert Morris the rest of the way in a 99-74 setback Saturday night in Arlington Heights, Ill.

The Bees couldn't keep up as the Eagles shot 55.6 percent from the floor and hit 10 3-pointers (in 18 attempts) in the second half.

SAU fell behind by as many as 15 points in the opening half before closing the half on a 7-0 run behind five points from Eric Dust and a layup from Lee Hardrick to trail just 43-35 at the break.

A Jacoby Posley layup had the margin at 60-53 six minutes into the second half but Robert Morris (22-5, 17-1 CCAC) went on a 12-2 run over the next four minutes. The Eagles pulled away from there.

Dust led SAU with 18 points and seven rebounds. Hardrick was the only other Bee in double figures, scoring 10 points. Greg Wagner added nine points and six rebounds and Dedric Byrd had nine points, six boards and six assists. Blake Johnson had eight points.

The Bees are back at it Sunday with a game in Gary, Ind., against No. 4 Rochester.
