The St. Ambrose men's and women's tennis teams are in Orlando, Fla., for their annual Spring Break trip.

Sunday, Mar. 12
Saint Scholastica 5, St. Ambrose men 4 - Results
St. Ambrose won three singles matches and one doubles match in opening the trip with a 5-4 loss to Saint Scholastica. Bart Van Rooijen was tested in the second set before claiming a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 1 singles. Colin Stiefer won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6. Michael Allee dropped the second before winning a third-set super-tiebreaker in his 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 victory at No. 5 singles. The Bees also earned a point thanks to Allee and Dylan Fairbairn's 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.

Saint Scholastica 7, St. Ambrose women 2 - Results
Griffin Rasche earned a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win at No. 1 singles and the team of Shannon Shovlain and Shannon McEachern paired for a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 3 doubles in SAU's 7-2 loss to Saint Scholastica. The Bees had chances in other matches too, including McEachern's 11-9 third-set super-tiebreaker loss at No. 6 singles. Alex Horton dropped a competitive 7-5, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles and Rasche and Mary Alice Oswalt fell 9-7 at No. 1 doubles.

Illinois Wesleyan 5, St. Ambrose women 4 - Results
SAU dropped a 5-4 decision to Illinois Wesleyan in the Bees' second meet of the day. Shannon Shovlain and Shannon McEachern won in straight sets in their singles matches at No. 5 and 6, respectively. The two also teamed for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles. Alex Horton was the other SAU victor, claiming a win at No. 3 singles in a third-set super-tiebreaker. Niki Steiner won the first set of her match at No. 4 singles before ultimately falling in a super-breaker. The No. 1 doubles team of Griffin Rasche-Mary Alice Oswalt and No. 2 team of Horton-Steiner both lost 8-5.

Monday, Mar. 13
Macalester 6, S. Ambrose men 0 - Results
The Bees were shutout by Macalester, losing 6-0. Three singles matches - Bart Van Rooijen at No. 1, Jake Anderson at No. 3, and Michael Allee at No. 4 - went unfinished. St. Ambrose lost all three doubles matches by identical 8-2 scores and dropped the three singles matches in straight sets.

Macalester 6, St. Ambrose women 2 - Results
Griffin Rasche and Mary Alice Oswalt won singles matches in SAU's 6-2 loss to Macalester. Rasche won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles and Oswalt prevailed 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 singles for the two Bee wins. Rasche's No. 1 doubles match with partner Alex Horton went unfinished. 

Tuesday, Mar. 14
Bethel (Minn.) 8, St. Ambrose men 1 - Results
At No. 1 singles, Bart Van Rooijen rebounded from a tough second set to pull out a 7-6, 1-6, 10-7 win in a third-set super-tiebreaker in an 8-1 loss to Bethel (Minn.).

Bethel (Minn.) 8, St. Ambrose women 1 - Results
Shannon McEachern won her match at No. 6 singles for the Bees' lone win in an 8-1 loss to Bethel (Minn.). 

Thursday, Mar. 16
Texas Lutheran 7, St. Ambrose men 2 - Results
Bart Van Rooijen and Colin Stiefer won singles matches as St. Ambrose closed its trip with a 7-2 loss to Texas Lutheran. Van Rooijen won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Stiefer won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.

Texas Lutheran 7, St. Ambrose women 2 - Results
St. Ambrose won two of the three doubles matches in its trip-ending 7-2 loss to Texas Lutheran. Nikki Steiner and Mary Alice Oswalt teamed for an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles and Shannon McEachern and Shannon Shovlain paired for an 8-4 win at No. 3. Griffin Rasche dropped a heartbreaker at No. 1 singles, falling 11-9 in a third-set super-tiebreaker.
