The St. Ambrose men's volleyball team traveled to Orlando, Fla., for its Spring Break trip.
Thursday, Mar. 16
No. 5 Warner (Fla.) 3, St. Ambrose 0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22) - Stats
The Bees got 10 kills from Zach Schmidt and nine apiece from Scott MacGillis and Riley Anderson as St. Ambrose opened its spring trip with a three-set loss to No. 5 Warner. Austin Royer led the team with 37 assists and matched MacGillis and Robby Hoffman with a team-best six digs. Nathan Heller collected both of SAU's service aces.
Friday, Mar. 17
St. Ambrose 3, Cincinnati Christian 0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-16) - Stats
Scott MacGillis and Riley Anderson each had eight kills, Zach Schmidt finished with seven and Spencer Lanig had six as St. Ambrose defeated Cincinnati Christian 25-14, 25-21, 25-16. Austin Royer led all players with 27 assists. Anderson had a match-best 12 digs. The Bees hit .343 as a team and thanks to 10 total blocks, limited Cincinnati Christian to a .050 hitting percentage.
Saturday, Mar. 18
St. Ambrose 3, Campbellsville 1 (25-10, 25-15, 18-25, 25-15) - Stats
Ten different Bees had at least one kills in SAU's 25-10, 25-15, 18-25, 25-15 win over Campbellsville. Riley Anderson led the way with 11 kills, Zach Schmidt had eight, Max Hogan finished with seven and Scott MacGillis added six. Adam Campbell and Austin Royer shared team-high honors with 18 assists apiece. Andy Murphy came up with 14 digs and MacGillis finished with 12.
SAU returns to CCAC play Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Trinity Christian.
