CHICAGO --- A near-perfect week by St. Ambrose University led to two Bees sweeping Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for their performances during the seven-day period from March 13-19. Sophomore third baseman Morgan Krieger (Plainfield, Ill.) claimed the former honor and sophomore Christina Pembrook (Naperville, Ill.) the latter, it was announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Krieger batted .387 for the week and shared the team lead with 12 hits and 10 runs batted in over the team's nine games played. Half of her hits went for extra bases with her three doubles and three home runs producing a .774 slugging percentage.

Krieger registered four multi-hit games on the week and drove in no less than a pair of runs in three contests.

Pembrook notched a pair of complete-game victories and one save in her three appearances on the mound last week. She allowed only one earned run in each of those appearances leading to a 1.31 ERA.

Pembrook opened the week with a two-hitter in a 6-1 victory against College of Saint Mary (Neb.) last Monday. She also went all seven innings in a 6-3 victory opposite Concordia (Mich.) on Thursday before earning a two-inning save in a 6-4 win also over Concordia on Friday.

Pembrook took care of business at the plate, as well, batting .333 (9-for-27) with six RBI and five runs scored.

St. Ambrose went 8-1 on the week as part of a 12-2 spring break trip. That pushed the Bees' season mark up to 14-4.
