Less than two days after returning from their Spring Break trip to Florida and just hours after moving back into the top-10 nationally, the Bees improved to 7-1 in the CCAC with a 3-0 win at Trinity Christian Tuesday night.

The 25-18, 25-14, 25-15 win moves No. 10 St. Ambrose to 13-8 overall.

Scott MacGillis (10 kills, one error) and Zach Schmidt (10 kills, two errors) led a dominating performance that saw the Bees total 43 kills and a .354 hitting percentage. Riley Anderson added seven kills, Spencer Lanig had five, Austin Adank picked up four and Max Hogan finished with three.

SAU got better as the match went along, hitting .241 in the first set, .370 in the second and .478 in the third. The Bees had 14 kills and three attack errors in the final set. Trinity Christian (8-12, 1-7 CCAC) as a team recorded just 13 kills to go along with 13 hitting errors in the entire match.

Austin Royer led all players with both 35 assists and 11 digs. Robby Hoffman had eight digs and Morty Berglind came up with six.

The Bees maintained their hold on second place in the conference, trailing just Robert Morris (8-0), a team St. Ambrose will visit next Tuesday.

First, SAU will play three matches at a two-day event hosted by Culver-Stockton beginning Friday.
