St. Ambrose was outscored 3-0 in the final period to fall at home to Robert Morris 10-8 Wednesday night in the rain at St. Vincent's.

In the back-and-forth matchup, the Bees had taken an 8-7 lead on an unassisted Austin Adams goal with just 18 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

But the lead lasted just over a minute into the fourth when Robert Morris (2-7) scored the equalizer. The Eagles scored two more times over the next two minutes to build a 10-8 lead and SAU struggled to get any good scoring chances from there.

SAU had trailed 6-4 with five minutes left in the opening half before Quinn Coyle completed his hat trick with his second and third goals of the game to tie the score at 6-6 at the half. After Robert Morris regained a 7-6 lead early in the third, Matt Madril scored his second goal of the night to tie the game before Adams gave St. Ambrose its short-lived lead.

Nicholas Cooper and Mike Jones scored first-quarter goals for the Bees in the loss. Louis Mallillin made 15 saves.

In the midst of a six-game homestand, the Bees will next host Aquinas Friday at 7 p.m.
