St. Ambrose brought two teams to the Loras Duhawk Spring Invitational and the two teams tied for fourth place in the 15-team tournament played at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta, Iowa, Sunday and Monday.

Each SAU team had a pair of top-10 finishers. 

Ben Thornton shot a 150 (76-74) to finish in a tie for eighth overall and Paul Burd carded a 151 (79-72) to tie for 10th for St. Ambrose. The second SAU team was led by Alec Barber, who opened with a 72 before finishing with a 78 for his 150 to match Thornton. Andrew Marcum shot a 151 (76-75) for the second team.

Bobby Wolfe finished behind Thornton and Burd and took 15th overall with a 152 (75-77). Andrew Tichler (84-76=160) and Danny Ormiston (85-80=165) also competed for the first SAU team.

Thomas Resnick tied for 25th with his 155 (78-77) for the second SAU team. Devin Hartman shot a 157 (75-82).

The SAU B team was alone in third place after opening with a 301 Sunday. After a first-round 314, the SAU A team climbed from sixth place into the tie for fourth with a 299 Monday. The second SAU team shot a second-round 312 to slip to fourth.

Wisconsin-Stout earned the team title with a 592 (298-294). Luther's Joe Fewer was individual medalist with a 2-over 144 (71-73).

The Bees will next compete in the two-day Indiana Wesleyan Wildcat Invite at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club in Indianapolis, Ind., beginning next Monday.
