St. Ambrose earned its first CCAC win of the season by defeating Roosevelt 9-0 in Hanover Park, Ill., Saturday afternoon.

The win moves the Bees to 4-11 overall and 1-4 in the conference.

SAU had little trouble taking down the Lakers. Bart Van Rooijen and Tom Greenwood set the tone with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles while Michael Allee and Bradley Wheeler combined for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles.

All four singles matches that were competed were won in straight sets. Van Rooijen won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Greenwood claimed a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Jake Anderson (6-1, 6-3) and Colin Stiefer (6-0, 6-0) also won easily at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, after winning their match at No. 3 doubles by default.

Allee and Wheeler also picked up singles victories by default to close out the 9-0 win.

The Bees will step out of conference play to next visit rival Augustana Wednesday at 4 p.m.
