2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America Softball release

For the second straight year, Anna Boffeli has been named to the Academic All-America College Division Softball Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The CoSIDA Academic All-America Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions, and are selected based on the students' work on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.

Boffeli, a first baseman from Eldridge, Iowa, was named to the 2017 team after batting .364 with 12 doubles, three triples and one home run this season. She leaves St. Ambrose as the program's all-time leader in doubles (50), while placing second all-time in both hits (211) and runs scored (129), third in RBIs (119) and 12th in batting average (.358).

She capped her career by being named to the all-tournament team at the 2017 CCAC Softball Tournament after batting .556 (5-for-9) with two RBIs and two runs scored over four games.

A nursing major at St. Ambrose, Boffeli advanced to the all-America ballot after earning all-district honors earlier this month.

She is the second Bee to earn Academic All-America honors this year, joining Kayla Anderson, who was named to the Women's Soccer Second Team in the fall.
