Abby Happ was named to the all-tournament team after helping St. Ambrose to a win at a two-day tournament hosted by Siena Heights.

The Bees defeated Lawrence Tech in four sets to begin play Friday. Four-set losses to Lindenwood-Belleville and Spring Arbor followed before the trip ended with a 3-0 loss to host Siena Heights.

SAU is now 2-4 on the season.

Happ shared the team lead with both 40 kills and eight service aces over the four matches. She also collected 50 digs, the third-best mark by a Bee.

In the 25-15, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23 win over Lawrence Tech, Happ finished with a double-double of 15 kills and 16 digs. Allie Brent had 10 kills, Riley Hummert finished with nine and Clarissa Blick added six. 

Morgan Twing led the team with 21 assists and Marissa Boyer had 17. Jenna Laxton (21) and Hummert (19) joined Happ with double-digit digs.

Brent and London Williams each were credited with four blocks in the victory.

Later Friday, SAU won the opening set before falling to Lindenwood-Belleville 20-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22.

Hummert and Brent put down double-figure kills, finishing with 15 and 10, respectively. Boyer (22) and Twing (21) combined for 43 assists. Laxton led the team with 24 digs. Hummert had 16 and Happ added 11.

A similar story played out Saturday morning as the Bees won the first set in an eventual 17-25, 25-14, 25-18, 27-25 loss to Spring Arbor.

Hummert had 12 kills, Happ 11 and Blick 10 in the loss. Natalie Bochenek picked up eight kills and Williams finished with six. Boyer and Twing again paced the Bees in assists with 26 and 18, respectively. Laxton led all players with 28 digs. Boyer (16), Hummert (14) and Happ (13) also reached double figures.

The tournament ended with a 25-19, 25-14, 25-15 loss to Siena Heights.

Happ and Brent shared the team lead with six kills apiece. Twing handed out 14 assists. Laxton picked up 17 digs and Happ added 10.

The Bees return home to open CCAC play Tuesday against Saint Xavier. The match at Lee Lohman Arena is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
