St. Ambrose fell to 0-3 in the early season after weekend losses to Central Methodist and Waldorf.

The Bees dropped their home opener to Central Methodist 3-0 Saturday before overcoming a two-goal deficit in an eventual 4-2 loss at Waldorf Sunday.

SAU managed just three total shots in the shutout loss, two coming from Nicolas Vizuete. Two goals in the final eight minutes of the first half were followed by a goal just two minutes into the second half by CMU.

Lewis Moston came up with eight saves, five of those coming in the first half to keep the Bees in it early.

The next afternoon, St. Ambrose fell behind 2-0 to Waldorf just five minutes into the second half.

But in the 54th minute, Tom Greenwood had the assist on Dominik Hils' first goal of the season to give the Bees some life. Then in the 75th minute, Nico Boehling's header found Travis Walsh, who scored his first goal of the year to knot the match at 2-2.

The tie lasted all of 45 seconds.

Waldorf tapped in what proved to be the game-winning goal and deflected in a final goal in the 83rd minute to complete the 4-2 win.

Moston made three saves in the loss.

SAU will next visit Mount Mercy Wednesday.
