Emily Jean shot a two-day 165 to earn runner-up honors and lead St. Ambrose to a second-place showing at the Viterbo Invitational Sunday and Monday at the La Crosse (Wis.) Country Club.

Jean fired rounds of 82 and 83 to comfortably take second, finishing five shots ahead of the third-place finishers.

She was one of three Bees to finish inside the top 10, joining twins Alyson Scheidecker and Abigail Scheidecker.

Alyson took seventh place after shooting rounds of 88 and 90 for a 178, and Abigail was two spots back with her 183 (87-96).

Becki Meils and Mackenna Munson bounced back from first-round struggles to climb inside the top 20. Meils opened with a 97 and Munson started with a 99, but each came back with a second-day 91. Meils took 16th place with her 188 and Munson finished in a tie for 17th with her 190.

As a team, St. Ambrose took second with its 709 (355-354). Viterbo won its own event going away with a 670. Viterbo's Danielle Ducklow earned medalist honors after carding back-to-back 77s for a 154 total.

Playing as individuals, Nicole Gordus shot a 203 (96-107) and Tessa Shields ended with a 207 (102-105).

Next Sunday and Monday, SAU will compete in the Clarke Fall Invitational, played at Eagle Ridge Golf Resort in Galena, Ill.
