A Travis Walsh goal in the 80th minute helped St. Ambrose earn a 1-1 tie with Culver-Stockton Wednesday night at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex.

The tie snapped a five-match losing streak to open the season for the Bees.

Trailing 1-0 after giving up a goal just over a minute into the second half, SAU had several chances in the second half and finally broke through.

Tom Greenwood's cross found Dominik Hils, whose header was knocked away by the Wildcats. The clearing attempt landed right at the feet of Walsh, who buried the shot in the upper right corner to even the score at 1-1.

It was the team-leading third goal of the year for Walsh.

Lewis Moston was tested often, especially in the second half, but he came up big. He made five of his nine saves in the second half, including a couple spectacular saves, to hold on to the tie.

The Bees, now 0-5-1 overall, will next face Jamestown in Wisconsin Dells Sunday afternoon.
