The St. Ambrose women continued their successful season with their second runner-up finish in as many meets.

The Bees took second at the Luther All-American Invite thanks to four Bees in the top 16. St. Thomas won the meet with 42 points, while the Bees were second with 73, just in front of St. Benedict (75) and hosts Luther (86) in the six team meet.

Ashley Plumb led the way for SAU as she raced to a lifetime best of 19:35 over the 5,000m course. Plumb's finish was good enough for third and she didn't have time to catch her breath before her teammates were storming the finish line.

Keeley Knobloch, Chloe Gunn and Jenny Dickes sprinted to the finish, coming in between 19:57 and 20:02 to secure 14th through 16th place and Karyn Paisley rounded out the Bees top five with a 21st place finish in 20:25.

Megan Grady (30th, 21:00) and Abby Hammer rounded out the Bees top 7 as Hammer and Abby Sears crossed the line together in 21:09.

"We put together a good team race today," SAU head coach Dan Zeimet said. "We had a plan today, knowing it would be pretty warm, and executed it very well. This should give us some confidence and now we can dial it up."

The Bees next race will be on Friday, September 22 at Saukie Golf Course as Augustana College hosts the Brissman-Lundeen Invite. The race will be a 6,000m race and will start at 4:30 p.m.
