Another dominating effort moved St. Ambrose to 3-0 in the CCAC as the Bees defeated Roosevelt 2-0 Tuesday afternoon at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex.

SAU's second straight shutout, and fourth of the year, moved the team to 6-1-2 overall.

The Bees did not allow a shot to the Lakers after surrendering just one shot in a 5-0 shutout of Calumet St. Joseph Saturday night.

St. Ambrose collected 24 shots Tuesday, 15 of those on frame.

The only goal SAU would need came in the seventh minute. Katie Reitz's shot was blocked by the Roosevelt keeper right to Sarah Thilenius, who buried the rebound into the back of the net for her first goal of the season.

After keeping the pressure on, the Bees got an insurance goal in the second half. Erin Smothers scored an unassisted goal, her second of the year, to pad the lead in the 58th minute.

That was more than enough for Nicole Staines, who rarely found the ball on her half of the field in earning the shutout.

SAU will next visit Holy Cross Saturday at 12 p.m.
