St. Ambrose moved to 5-0 in the CCAC with a 6-0 shutout of Judson Wednesday afternoon at the St. Vincent Athletic Complex. The last four of those wins have come via shutout.

Since falling behind Trinity International in the third minute of their CCAC opener, the Bees have outscored their conference opponents a combined 24-0 over the last five games.

It took just 41 seconds for St. Ambrose to get the only goal it would need against Judson.

After Katie Reitz and Morgan Wahlen took shots that bounced off the post, Lisa Walter collected the rebound and buried what proved to be the game-winning goal.

But that was just the start of the scoring.

Wahlen scored the first of her two goals off corner kicks in the 34th minute to help the Bees to a 2-0 halftime lead.

Six minutes into the second half, St. Ambrose got another goal off a corner. Wahlen connected with Reitz, whose header pushed the lead to 3-0. Just over three minutes later, Reitz got her second goal, scoring off a pass from Elisa Senno.

In the 65th minute, Wahlen netted her second goal of the match before Erin Smothers ended the scoring with a long unassisted goal in the 77th minute.

Nicole Staines saved the only shot she faced in her 70 minutes before Gaby Navejas played the final 20 scoreless minutes in goal.

After outshooting Judson 20-1, SAU has outshot its last four opponents a combined 103-2.

The schedule gets much tougher starting Saturday when the Bees visit Cardinal Stritch, a team receiving votes in the NAIA top-25 poll. The match in Milwaukee, Wis., is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
