A 5-9 sophomore from Peterborough, England, James Trevor has been playing soccer for as long as he can remember. Coming to SAU to play for a British coach with several existing British players on the roster, Trevor felt that St. Ambrose was a good fit for him. Wanting different life experiences on a different continent, soccer provided Trevor with an opportunity to compete collegiately.

"I’ve definitely enjoyed my experiences as part of the SAU soccer program," he states. "The main difference from high level soccer in England and elsewhere are the substitution rules. In college soccer, the freedom of players to leave and enter the game multiple times means the tempo is much higher."

With three tough loses to begin the season, the Bees may finally be gaining momentum at just the right time. A 5-1 conference win at AIB Saturday was followed by Tuesday's 6-0 win over MCC foe Mount Mercy, a team receiving votes in the NAIA top-25 poll.

SAU will host No. 8 Grand View Saturday in a crucial MCC match. Another win would leave the Bees in a very strong position in the conference.

"With a lot of freshmen making the varsity squad and only three seniors on the first team, the future is definitely bright for us as a program. But two wins against Mount Mercy and Grand View this week are 100% our main focus at the moment," Trevor states.

That focus carried the Bees into a 6-0 win over Mount Mercy at home and a 3-0 start in conference play, with Trevor contributing an assist.

Hopefully the Bees can translate this mentality and momentum into their performance against Grand View on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
