Sport: Softball

Year in School: Junior

Major: Exercise Science/Pre-PT

Reason for Nomination: 

Becca is an extremely hard working student athlete; always committed to being her best. She always brings positive leadership to the team and her success on the field reflects her commitment to team and excellence.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

Hitting Coach Kelly with a roll in the head at Lambert's Cafe or beating St. Francis the first game in extra innings.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

Filling Station

Favorite pre-game/meet/match song?

Geronimo by Sheppard

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

My Mom

If you could play another sport, what would it be? 

Basketball or Golf

What is one fun fact about you? 

I had a metal cleat go through my hand this season!

Name: Karsen Jummati

Sport: Women's Lacrosse

Year in School: Sophomore

Major: Nursing

Reason for Nomination: 

Karsen is a leader on and off the field. She really found her stride at the end of our season. Karsen recently scored 6 goals in our conference playoff game to keep us in the fight for the win. She shows up and works hard every day with a smile on her face and a great attitude.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

My favorite moment would have to be the ride home from our game versus Mount Mercy. The energy was high after our win and it felt nice to celebrate everyone's accomplishments together.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

Jimmy Johns for sure! 

Favorite pre-game/meet/match song?

Our locker room gets pretty loud before games and we always have some good songs playing but a staple is NOKIA by Drake

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

Two of my cousins are St. Ambrose alumni and both played lacrosse while they were here. I probably never would have tried the sport if it wasn't for them. Seeing what they did made me want to give it a shot, and I hope that what I have accomplished so far makes them proud.

If you could play another sport, what would it be? 

I think I would like to do gymnastics. I have been meaning to try and learn a backflip for years and I think it would be cool to just whip one out. 

What is one fun fact about you? 

I love to cook and create new dishes

Name: Aleanna Mendoza

Sport: Women's Golf

Year in School: Senior

Major: Computer Network Administration

Reason for Nomination: 

I am nominating this senior for her outstanding leadership and consistent dedication to her team throughout the season. She exemplified her growth and determination by shooting a career-low 77 in her final competitive tournament, setting a strong example for those around her.

What is your favorite moment of the season so far?

Shooting my career low of 77 at my final round of competitive golf and walking off into arms full of support at the end.

What is your favorite post-match/game/meet meal? 

Jimmy John's

Who inspired you to begin playing this sport? 

My Dad

Tennis
