Offermann and Washington named Athletes of the Month; Baseball named Team of the Month
Sydnie Offermann (dance) and Cameron Washington (men's lacrosse) were selected by the St. Ambrose Sports Information staff as the April Fighting Bees Athletes of the Month.
The Fighting Bees Baseball team was named April's Team of the Month.
Washington capped off an outstanding sophomore season by earning Second Team All-Conference honors after emerging as one of the most dynamic offensive players in the conference. The attacker finished the year tied for second in the conference with 68 total points, totaling 29 goals and 39 assists, while leading the Bees in assists and serving as the engine behind St. Ambrose's offense. Washington averaged 5.63 points per game over the final eight contests of the season, including explosive performances such as a 15-point outing against Ottawa and a 13-point performance against Missouri Valley. His vision, passing ability, and playmaking in both transition and settled offense helped fuel a St. Ambrose attack that averaged 13.7 goals per game and powered the Bees to several signature wins throughout the spring.
Offermann added another historic accomplishment to the St. Ambrose Dance program after being named the 2026 NAIA Competitive Dancer of the Year following the Bees' national championship run. The senior from Dyersville, Iowa, became the third straight SAU student-athlete to earn the prestigious award and also collected First Team NAIA All-American honors for the fourth consecutive year. Offermann helped lead the Bees to their fifth NAIA National Championship overall and third title in the last four years, as St. Ambrose posted a 93.37 overall score, the second-highest total in championship history. Her leadership, consistency, and elite-level performances played a major role in cementing the Bees' dynasty atop NAIA dance.
The St. Ambrose baseball team earns Team of the Month honors after capturing the CCAC Tournament Championship and earning a spot in the NAIA National Championships Opening Round for the first time since 2017. The Bees showcased a balanced offense throughout April, highlighted by standout production from players like Filip Milatovic (.433 average, 22 RBIs, .563 OBP), Mason Heitzler (.433 average, 19 RBIs), and Bryce Vorwald (.400 average, 21 RBIs). St. Ambrose consistently delivered timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and clutch performances in conference play while building momentum heading into postseason competition.
Each month, the St. Ambrose Sports Information Department selects a Male and Female Athlete of the Month based on their exceptional accomplishments. A Team of the Month is also chosen to recognize collective achievement across all Fighting Bees programs.
