St. Ambrose rolls to another win at the Baker Classic

The SAU Cheer Team continued its run of success, earning its third straight championship by taking the Baker Classic in Baldwin City, Kan., Saturday.

The Bees earned a score of 95.10, topping second-place Oklahoma City (88.07) by more than seven points. This was the fourth straight competition the Bees have posted a score in the 90s and marked the second consecutive score of at least 95.

Saint Mary was third with a score of 86.52 and Baker was fourth with an 81.93. A total of nine teams competed in the event.

SAU Cheer Team participants were Teylar Chatman, Ryan Czech, JP Elder, Chloe Fulcher, Graysen Gerlinger, Amira Glenn, Mikal Honeycutt, Sydnee Horstman, Sydney Hughes, Alanna Lang, Jesse Lopez, Taye Owten, Donovan Peck, Reese Puleo, Ryan Russo, Abi Grace Sayavongsa, Haley Scholbrock, Savannah Schumacher, Jaylen Taylor and Brady Teel. Ethan Trevino was the alternate.

St. Ambrose will host its own Fighting Bee Classic on Sunday, Mar. 1.
