Jackson named MSFA Defensive Player of the Week

Two interceptions, including a pick-six, helped Jeremiah Jackson Sr. earn MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The junior defensive back led the Bees with eight total tackles and intercepted two passes, one of which he returned 61 yards for a score to give St. Ambrose a 38-30 lead in the fourth quarter in an eventual 45-37 victory.

His first interception was equally as important. It came in the second quarter with the Bees trailing 23-14. He picked off the pass at the SAU 38-yard line and returned it 27 yards. It led to a Tom Gillen field goal that cut what had once been a 23-7 deficit to a 23-17 game. St. Ambrose ultimately rallied to take the lead, a lead Jackson would extend to eight points with his 61-yard return in the final quarter.
