Late Run Moves Bees to 4-0
St. Ambrose outscored Cardinal Stritch 14-4 over the final 3:26 to pull out a 66-63 in a first-round game of the SAU Pepsi Challenge.
Cardinal Stritch (0-1) took a 59-52 lead on a 3-pointer with just under four minutes to play. SAU (4-0) tied the score at 61-61 on a Justin Tiner layup and after two CSU free throws, Mike Kennedy knotted the score at 63-63. Bryce Davis gave the Bees the lead when he took Tiner's full-court pass and converted with 36 seconds left. Justin Blondell hit 1-of-2 from the line with under 12 seconds to play and Cardinal Stritch misfired on two final 3-point attempts.
