Junior Mike Kennedy was named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the Week today after helping the Bees to a 3-0 week.

The 6-6 forward from Evergreen Park, Ill., averaged 22.3 points while shooting nearly 51 percent from the floor and 6.3 rebounds over the three games.

Kennedy opened the week with a 23-point, seven-rebound effort in a 71-69 win at McKendree, ranked #8 in the NAIA Division I preseason poll. He knocked down 10-of-19 shots from the field.

He then poured in 18 points and grabbed five boards in a 66-63 win over Cardinal Stritch before finishing the week with 26 points and seven rebounds in a 64-54 win over Olivet Nazarene.

Through SAU's 5-0 start this season, Kennedy is averaging 24.0 points, on 58 percent shooting, and 5.6 rebounds per contest. He surpassed the 1,000-career point mark already this year.
