St. Ambrose Falls to Augustana 80-73
St. Ambrose battled back from a 20-point deficit midway through the second half before falling 80-73 at Augustana Wednesday night. The loss drops the Bees to 7-2 overall.
SAU clawed to within six points at 71-65 with 1:46 to play after trailing 58-38 nine minutes into the second half but the comeback ran out of steam.
Joe Speth led five Bees in double figures with 18 points. Chris Donnelly scored 16, Mike Kennedy netted 11 and Justin Tiner and Axel Messager each finished with 10.
St. Ambrose will host William Penn in a Midwest Collegiate Conference battle Saturday at 3 p.m.
