Bees Stumble at Waldorf
St. Ambrose shot only 29 percent from the field in the second half in dropping a 65-53 decision at Waldorf Saturday afternoon. The Bees are 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference.
SAU led much of the first half before a late Waldorf run gave the Warriors a 29-27 halftime lead. The Warriors (6-10, 1-4 MCC) built a double-digit lead six minutes into the second half. The Bees got as close as five points but their offensive struggles prevented any comeback.
St. Ambrose finished shooting 37 percent for the game, including 24 percent from beyond the arc. The Bees also knocked down only 5-of-13 free throw attempts in dropping their second straight conference game.
Mike Kennedy was the lone Bee to crack double figures as he finished with a game-high 20 points.
The Bees will look to snap their two-game skid Wednesday by playing host to Viterbo at 7:30 p.m.
