Frazier named MCC Player of the Week
A fantastic start to his senior season netted Nick Frazier Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors today.
The senior guard from Bellwood, Ill., averaged 30.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in helping No. 14 St. Ambrose start 2-0 and win the Indiana-South Bend Haunted Hoops Tournament over the weekend.
In the Bees' season opener, Frazier netted a career-high 37 points, with 25 of those points coming in the second half, to lead SAU to a 94-79 win over Indiana-Kokomo. He shot 14-of-20 from the floor and hit all six of his free throw attempts.
The next day, Frazier scored 24 points, on 9-of-15 shooting, and added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 78-75 win over Indiana-South Bend in the championship game of the two-day tournament.
Just two games into the season, Frazier has climbed to eighth place on the St. Ambrose all-time scoring charts with 1,655 career points.
The Bees will next compete in the Mount Mercy ActionCOACH Shootout. Friday, SAU will face No. 2 Midland and Saturday, the Bees will take on Waldorf.
