St. Ambrose men’s soccer dominates second half for 3–1 win
St. Ambrose men's soccer claims a 3–1 victory over Indiana University Northwest Saturday afternoon in East Chicago, Indiana.
Indiana Northwest struck first in the 19th minute. The Bees responded in the 30th minute with Gus Stevens scoring a header off of a corner kick from Matheus Migueis, tying the match at 1–1 heading into halftime.
St. Ambrose took control in the second half as Jake Pollock netted two goals in the 49th and 60th minutes to secure the 3–1 win. Pollock's performance highlighted the Bees' second-half dominance.
The Bees outshot the RedHawks 21-9 and held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks. Pollock led the Bees with five shots and Migueis trailed with three. Josh Simon, Gus Stevens, and Kai Yoshikane were able to add two shots. Joe Campbell, Lucas Pizani, Emilio Su Gomez, Owen Hull, Luis Ferbeyre, and Miguel Fernandez all tallied a shot.
Dawson Yegge recorded four saves in the victory.
