Bees fall 2–0 to No. 24 Olivet Nazarene in CCAC Quarterfinal

The St. Ambrose men's soccer team saw its season come to an end Wednesday evening with a 2–0 loss to No. 24 Olivet Nazarene in the quarterfinal round of the CCAC Tournament in Bourbonnais, Ill.

The Tigers struck first in the 12th minute to give Olivet Nazarene an early 1–0 lead. Despite strong defensive efforts from the Bees and several key saves by goalkeeper Dawson Yegge, who finished with eight saves, St. Ambrose entered halftime trailing by one.

The Bees continued to battle in the second half, limiting opportunities and pushing for an equalizer, but the Tigers sealed the match in the final minute to make it 2–0.

St. Ambrose recorded four shots, two from Jake Pollock, and one each from Luis Ferbeyre and Emilio Su Gomez. Olivet Nazarene outshot the Bees 26–4 and held a 6–1 advantage in corner kicks.

Yegge's strong performance in net kept St. Ambrose within striking distance throughout, while the Bees showed composure and resilience in a physical match that featured multiple cautions on both sides.

With the loss, the Bees conclude their season with a strong showing in conference play and valuable experience heading into next year. The Bees ended the season 10-9-0 overall and 3-7-0 in conference play.
