Bees compete at home for final time in SAU Tune-Up

This weekend the Bees competed at the home track for the final time this season in the SAU Tune-Up, getting closer and closer to the big weekend in two weeks. 

On the men's team, starting off with the 60 meters, Kaizer Riley placed first in the prelims and took second in the finals with a time of 6.97. Riley also won the 200m with a time of 22.25. Keagan Erickson placed fourth in the 60m finals (7.07) and placed third in the 200m (22.57) with Jatzyel Hernandez placing in-between Riley and Hernandez in the 200m with a time of 22.44. 

In the 400-meter dash, Javon Bruce placed second running a 50.60 and Jackson Baedke took third running a 50.76. Elijah House received B standard in the 600m with a time of 1:21.16 and Tyler Moody ran a 1:24.69 in the 600m as well. In the 800m, Gavin Stalzer PRd with a time of 2:07.47. 

In the 1000-meter run, Chris Miserendino ran the B standard with a time of 2:29.93, and the other SAU individuals in the 1k PRd as well: Jack Lied with a 2:43.29, Carver Reiss with a 2:43.78, and Anthony Conard with a 2:46.71. PRs in the mens 3k included Ian Eller (8:55), Ross Willerth (8:57), Miserendino (8:59), Jack Degner (9:17), Fischer Dickinson (9:22) and Mason Schaack (10:23). 

Brady Belz placed first in the 60m hurdles Finals with a time of 8.49 after placing second in the preliminaries with a time of 8.55 seconds.

In the field events, Josiah Carter placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters and first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.15m. Dominic Neely placed second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50m. Robert Lee was second in the long jump with a mark of 6.72m, and placing first in both the shot put and weight throw was Joe Reinhart (16.11m and 17.34m).

On the women's side, Claire O'Melia placed first with a PR in the 60 meter finals after placing first in the preliminaries (7.76 and 7.89 seconds). O'Melia proceeded to win the 200m dash (25.88) with Sarah Jordan right behind placing second (26.24). Maryn Gardner PRd in both the 200m and the 400m with times of 29.53 and 1:09.06. Lynzie Cady placed first with a time of 1:02.30 and Lucy Oehler place second with a PR of 1:03.64. 

In the 1k, PRs were across the board with Lexi Havercamp (3:27.36), Eileen Elenteny (3:52.43) and Rylie Dunne (3:59.43). Kaitlyn Knoche placed first in the mile with a PR of 5:13.35. All the other women in the mile PRd as well, including Maurina Fahrenkrug (5:16), Adeline Smith (5:30), Carlie Woolm (5:33), Allison Hein (5:39), and Loryn Heil (6:25).

In the field events, C.J. Starke jumped a PR with a mark of 1.40m in the high jump. Ryleigh Warden placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 3.15m and Kate Surwillo was right behind in third with a mark of 3.00m. Catherine Zamora placed third in the long jump with a mark of 4.20m and Erin Miner placed fourth with a mark of 4.08m. Miner proceeded to place second in the triple jump with a mark of 9.50m. Bree Neumiller placed second in the shot put and earned a PR in the weight throw placing fourth (12.47 and 13.05). Tosin Oshin placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.37m (PR) and Alexis Tomlin placed ninth with a PR in the weight throw (11.42m).

With a lot of personal records continuing to be broken, the Bees are working their way toward the moment they have been anticipating. Next week, the Bees will be racing at various locations to maximize racing opportunities for their last meet before the Conference Championships!
