Zang and Bos name first team all-CCAC, three earn second team honors

Pedro Zang was named Freshman of the year and earned first team all-CCAC honors, along with Michael Bos. Second team honors were given to Anthony Anderson, Kam Dixon, and Ethan Karban.

Zang, a 6-4 freshman opposite hitter from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, earned first team all-CCAC honors as well as being names Freshman of the Year.

He led the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference in kills with 355 in his rookie season. Zang averaged 3.17 kills per set, had a hitting percentage of .205, and 40 blocks. He had a game high of 24 kills against Judson on March 25. He was also named February Male Athlete of the Month by the SAU Sports Information Department. He is studying Business.

Bos, a 6-7 sophomore middle hitter from Chicago, Ill., was named to first team all-CCAC.

He posted 254 kills, a 2.42 per set average, and a team leading .412 hitting percentage. Bos was named Attacker of the Week by the CCAC on March 4. Bos had three matches where he put up 14 kills against the opponent. He is studying Business.

Anderson, a 6-0 junior setter from O'Fallon, Mo., earned second team honors.

He put up a career high of 790 assist this season, averaging 7.75 per set. On March 25 he achieved a match high of 49 assist against Judson. Anderson was an effective player all over the court with 146 digs, 48 kills, and 35 blocks. He is studying Exercise Science.

Dixon, a 6-3 freshman outside hitter from Valparaiso, Ind., earned second team honors.

He was also an offensive producer for the Bees. Dixon collected 305 kills, 2.68 per set, and a .242 hitting percentage in his first season with the Bees. Dixon also had a total of 22 block at the net. He is studying Exercise Science and Accounting.

Karban, a 5-11 sophomore libero from Belleville, Ill., earned second team honors.

He picked up a team high of 254 digs and 2.23 per set. Karban had a match high of 21 digs on February 8 against Culver-Stockton. He also registered 86 assists. He is studying Exercise Science.
