SAU runs winning streak to three with win at CCSJ
St. Ambrose extended its winning streak to three matches with a 25-14, 25-15, 18-25, 25-16 win at Calumet Thursday night.
Besides the third set, the Bees were in control throughout.
SAU got off to a great start.
The Bees had 14 kills and just three errors to hit .423 in the first set. The hitting percentage jumped to .435 in the second thanks to 11 kills against a single hitting error.
St. Ambrose (18-9, 7-4 CCAC) struggled in the third before coming back strong in the fourth to close out the match 3-1.
SAU hit .243 for the match while Calumet (0-22, 0-10 CCAC) hit at a .106 clip.
Kam Dixon led the way with 13 kills. Seven other Bees had multiple kills. Pedro Zang finished with six, Charlie Flynn had five, and Jon Guch and Michael Bos each ended with four.
Kainalu Ka'ahanui and Chayce Stouffer had three kills apiece and Felipe Prieto finished with two.
Prieto had a team-best 15 assists while Anthony Anderson was credited with 13.
Ethan Karban collected 11 digs, Dixon finished with eight and Anderson added five.
Prieto (three) and Anderson (two) combined for five of the Bees' eight aces.
St. Ambrose returns home to host Trinity Christian Tuesday.
