SAU recognizes 13 on Senior Night
St. Ambrose recognized 13 members of its wrestling program before the final home dual of the season - Ethan Blair, Mick Chagnon, Slade Dias, Riece Graham, Diego Machado, Dylan Meiners, Jack Merlo, Hunter Meyrer, Abdullah Razzak, Jayden Terronez, Riley Woods, and team managers Emma Nelson and Ryan Snyder.
The Bees wrestled Southeast Community College, a top-10 junior college program, and dropped a 27-11 decision.
SAU picked up three victories, including a dominant 16-1 tech fall in 6:11 by Jayden Terronez at 165 pounds. That was followed by an 8-7 victory by Anthony Sartori at 174 pounds.
The Bees' other win came at 141 pounds, where Guiseppe Guerra claimed a 9-3 decision.
St. Ambrose had chances in several other bouts.
Reese Finch dropped a 2-1 decision at 149 pounds. Colin O'Grady fell 10-5 at 184 pounds. And Dylan Meiners lost 9-6 after a takedown in the final seconds.
The Bees return to action Saturday at the Mike Duroe Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
