Machado, Terronez return to NAIA Championships
It will be a return performance for a pair of Bees at the NAIA Men's Wrestling Championships. Diego Machado and Jayden Terronez will represent St. Ambrose at the National Tournament beginning March 6 at Park City Arena in Park City, Kan.
Machado will be making his second straight appearance at Nationals. The 157-pounder was added to the bracket after rolling to a 3-1 record at the Heart of America Championships. Machado earned all-Heart honorable mention by placing third at the conference meet.
This will be the third Nationals appearance from Terronez, who qualified in both 2022 and 2023. He earned an automatic bid thanks to his fourth-place conference finish at 165 pounds. After dropping his first match, Terronez won back-to-back matches on the consolation side to punch his ticket to Nationals.
The NAIA Championships will feature six sessions over three days. The first day will include Sessions I and II, advancing through the second round of both the championship and consolation brackets. Action will continue March 7 and 8.
