Willerth, Knoche named CCAC Runners of the Week
CHICAGO --- Winning the St. Ambrose University Fighting Bee Invitational has its rewards.
That came on Wednesday when SAU's Kaitlyn Knoche (Donahue, Iowa) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week and Ross Willerth was named the league's Men's Runner of the Week.
Knoche, a junior, topped the field of 31 runners with her time of 23:49 on the 6K course.
St. Ambrose also won the meet as a team, finishing ahead of two other squads.
Willerth bested the 16-person field at SAU's own Fighting Bee Invitational on Saturday. The senior completed the 8K course in 26:21.
