Wolter recognized for reaching 1000 career points

Abby Wolter was recognized for scoring her 1,000th career point in a ceremony before St. Ambrose's game against St. Francis Saturday afternoon.

Wolter became just the 36th player in program history to reach the milestone when she capped a 20-point game with a basket in the closing seconds of a contest at Indiana South Bend on Jan. 11. She is the 89th player in SAU basketball history to score 1,000 career points, combining both the men's and women's programs.

The junior team captain and education major was presented with a commemorative basketball from head coach Zac Exume in the pregame presentation.

"Abby is a great leader on this team and is always working extremely hard both on the court and in the classroom," said Exume. "She is a great representative of her family, this program and the University."

Wolter currently has 1,040 career points, good for 33rd on the program's all-time scoring list.
