Wolter earns second CCAC Offensive and Defensive POW awards

CHICAGO --- For the second time this season, St. Ambrose University's Abby Wolter (Keokuk, Iowa) has pulled off the rare feat of claiming both Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.

Wolter accomplished the achievement the first time during the seven-day period ending Nov. 30.  This time, she did so by averaging 29.0 points, 14.0 rebounds (10.5 defensively), 5.0 assists and both 3.0 steals and blocks per game. She also missed just five shots from the field in 30 attempts (.833).

The senior forward delivered the first of her two double-doubles last week on Wednesday. On that night, she rang up 26 points, 15 rebounds (10 on defense), seven assists, five steals and three blocks, not to mention converting all but one of her 13 shots from the field (.923) in a 104-28 defeat of Mount Mary University.

On Saturday, Wolter went wild with 32 points (13-of-17 shooting, .765), 13 rebounds (11 defensive), three blocks, three assists and one steal as St. Ambrose came up just short in a 95-93 loss to Olivet Nazarene.

The Bees' 1-1 week left them at 9-9 in conference play and 12-14 overall.
