White named CCAC Defensive Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- Trinity Christian College's Selah Hopkins (Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada) accounted for half of her team's offense, while St. Ambrose University's Brittny White (Coal City, Ill.) allowed only one goal in two matches leading the pair to claim Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week distinction for the seven-day period from Oct. 14-20.
White continued her dominance in goal this season to earn CCAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition. In two matches covering 200 minutes, the freshman goalkeeper permitted only one goal to lower her goals-against average on the season to 1.04.
White allowed her only goal, while saving three shots in a 3-1 win over Robert Morris University Illinois on Wednesday. Three days later, she recorded seven saves in a double overtime scoreless tie with Holy Cross College. That marked her third shutout of the season.
St. Ambrose's 1-0-1 week put the Bees at 8-4-2 on the season.
