Four Bees earn all-conference honors

2019 all-CCAC Women's Soccer Team

Seniors Rachel Jennings and Katie Reitz were named to the all-CCAC first team, while junior Erin Smothers and freshman Brittny White were awarded second-team honors.

Jennings, a Davenport, Iowa native, anchored the Bees defense, starting in every game she played in. She was named Defensive Player of the Week for the conference (Sept. 23-29) and helped the Bees to three shutouts. Jennings also scored two goals this season. She was a first team all-conference selection last year.

Reitz, a forward from West Chicago, Ill., led the Bees offense. Playing in 14 games, Reitz was the team leader in goals, with seven, and was second on the team with four assists. She had a team-high 18 points. Reitz finishes her career with 33 goals, six of them game-winners, and 12 assists. She was a second team all-conference selection in 2017.

Smothers, from LaGrange, Ill., was named to the second team after switching from defender to forward early this season. With the switch, Smothers tallied six goals and five assists for a career-high 17 points. She was selected to the first team all-conference in 2017 and 2018.

Newcomer White, from Coal City, Ill., had a strong showing in goal her first year as a Bee. She was named conference Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 14-20) and averaged 3.71 saves per game. White played in 17 games, starting all but one, and had a goals against average of 0.960.

Ambrose finished with an overall record of 9-7-2, and a 8-3-1 record in the CCAC.
