Twelve Bees named to all-academic women's soccer team

CCAC women's soccer awards

CHICAGO --- Seven of 12 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference schools sponsoring women's soccer produced double-figure all-academic league selections resulting in a grand total of 126 individuals garnering the recognition, the most of the five fall CCAC sports.

Headlining the list was Trinity Christian College with 25 honorees, which was also the most in any of the five fall sports for one school. Olivet Nazarene University and Robert Morris University Illinois tied for runner-up honors with 14 selections each, while Cardinal Stritch University was one back with 13 awardees.

Also in the double-figure category were St. Ambrose University (12 selections), Saint Xavier University (11) and Trinity International University (10). Just missing out on that club was University of St. Francis with nine honorees.

The rest of the squad included six representatives each from Judson University and Roosevelt University and three each from Calumet College of St. Joseph and Holy Cross College.

The 12 Bees named to the team were Rachel Jennings, Lauren Limpin, Natalie Neumann, Katie Pendleton, Stephanie Quigley, Katie Reitz, Haley Salander, Elisa Senno, Erin Smothers, Tori Timerman, Katie Turnquist and Lisa Walter.

Better than 45 percent of the individuals making this year's honor roll were on the squad one year ago. A total of 57 recipients had their names listed for the second year in a row. Fifteen of those were three-peat selections and two were four-time selections. Five also remained perfect in the classroom with their 4.00 grade point averages.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
