DeSplinter named Second Team Academic All-America®
2022 CSC Women's Soccer Academic All-America Teams
Sophomore Taylor DeSplinter earned recognition for her efforts in the classroom and on the pitch. The forward was named to the NAIA Women's Soccer Academic All-America® Second Team as selected by College Sports Communicators. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.50 cumulative grade point averages.
A nursing major, DeSplinter posted a 3.70 GPA and was one of four sophomores to earn the honor in the NAIA. Mackenzie Selvius from Spring Arbor University was named the NAIA Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year.
DeSplinter had a standout season on the field in 2022, earning first-team all-conference in the CCAC. She started all 20 games for the Bees and scored 20 goals to go with nine assists, leading the team in both categories. DeSplinter netted four game-winning goals.
This is the first time since 2018 a women's soccer player has been named to the Academic All-America® Team. Katie Reitz earned the honor in 2018.
