Brunson earns Honorable Mention All-American honors

2022 Women's Soccer All-Americans

Sophomore Kaitlyn Brunson was named an Honorable Mention All-American, the NAIA announced today. The NAIA All-America Committee, which consists of the NAIA-Women's Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women's soccer coaches, select the three 11-member teams and the honorable mention teams. St. Ambrose has had back-to-back All-American Honorable Mention selections, with Morgan Wahlen earning the distinction last season.

The forward/midfielder finished with 13 goals and eight assists in the 2022 season and earned first-team all-CCAC honors. Brunson almost doubled her point total from her freshman campaign, going from 18 points to 34 in 2022.

She had a career-high three goals in a win over Roosevelt on September 20th. The Marion, Iowa native recorded a brace in three games this season - at Indiana Northwest, vs. Judson, and at Bellevue. She scored a goal in eight matches and had four game-winners. Brunson recorded two assists in two different games - at Indiana Northwest on October 12th and at Calumet on November 1st.

Brunson was named a 2022 NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and was named to the 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team.

In her two seasons with the Fighting Bees, Brunson has 19 goals and 14 assists for 52 points and has netted six game-winners.
