Horst earns CCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors
St. Ambrose University's Jenna Horst earned the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolade, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Horst put up three goals and three assists for the seven-day period from Sept. 22-28 en route to CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition. She accounted for better than half of the Fighting Bees' scoring in the two matches the team played last week.
In a 9-0 victory over Mount Mary University last Tuesday, the senior forward delivered two goals and two assists. Four days later, she scored the tying goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 2-1 nod over the University of St. Francis on Saturday.
The two wins were the first two of the league season for St. Ambrose, which is now 2-1-1 in the CCAC and 4-5-1 overall.
