Bees win in a 4-0 shutout against Calumet

St. Ambrose women's soccer hosted Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon at St. Vincent's Athletic Complex. The Bees took control from the opening whistle, cruising to a 4-0 victory.

The Bees wasted no time getting on the board. In just the fifth minute of play, Mia Vetter scored a header off an assist from Addie Kerkhoff and Isabella Crawford. Just fourteen minutes later, Olivia Infante doubled the lead with a goal in the 19th minute.

The second half brought more of the same. Infante struck again in the 72nd minute, this time assisted by Mia Hefner. Hefner then added her own goal in the 85th minute off an assist from Veronica Gordon to seal the 4-0 win for the Bees.

St. Ambrose controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Calumet 42-0. The Bees put seventeen of those shots on goal, forcing the Calumet goalkeeper to make thirteen saves.

Infante led with two goals on five shots, while Hefner tallied a goal and an assist on eight shots. Vetter ended with a goal and two shots. Gordon added an assist off five shots, and Crawford earned an assist as well and had one shot. Lauren Bendall ended the match with seven shots, and Jenna Horst had four. Elyse Sarah Habersetzer recorded three shots. McKenna Shilevinatz and Charlise Martel recorded two shots. Sophia Roszkowski, Jade Rubalcava, and Daniya El-Zein were able to tally a shot.

The Bees also earned eight corner kicks compared to Calumet's one, while Ella Oscarsson recorded a clean sheet without facing a single shot on goal.

Next up, the Bees will travel to face St. Xavier on Tuesday, October 7th, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. in Chicago, Illinois.
